Christ Rules

Our Families are to Resist and Conquer Conspiracies against Christ’s Lordship

By Adi Schlebusch

In a recent post I discussed how liberals, freemasons and various other secret societies such as the Bavarian Illuminati and their successors have long conspired to destroy the family as basic covenantal and societal unit. This is because the family, ordained by God to be foundational to society, is one of the primary covenantal structures by which Christ expands his Kingdom. The Cultural Marxism of the Frankfurt School, the leading ideology of most Western universities, the media and governments today, also views the family as their primary target. As two leading Cultural Marxist philosophers, Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer argued:

For adolescents the family no longer marks out the horizon of their lives; the autonomy of the father is vanishing and with it resistance to his authority. Earlier, the girl’s servitude in the paternal home inflamed in her the passion which seemed to lead to freedom but was fulfilled neither in marriage nor anywhere outside.[1]

It is precisely because marriage and the family are so integral to God’s design for humanity, that the Left hates it with such passion and intensity. This is why they also spend so much time, money and energy trying to fight and destroy it.

Cultivating our family life in accordance with God’s will is integral to fighting all conspiracies and attacks against Christ’s Lordship.  The calling of parents is perhaps the most noble there is in all creation. The Presbyterian theologian and philosopher Robert Lewis Dabney described the education of children as

the most important business done on earth. It is the one business for which the earth exists. To it all politics, all war, all literature, all money making ought to be subordinated; and every parent especially ought to feel, every hour of the day, that next to making his own calling and election sure, this is the one end for which he is kept alive by God—this is his task on earth.[2]

Irrespective of who is governing the land and irrespective of who is governing the church, no man, principality, institution or power ever has the right to undermine the God-given authority of a husband and a father in his own household. Neither the church, nor the state, nor the school can legitimately exercise authority in the home. The Bible teaches the principle of subsidiarity, namely that all political and social matters should always be dealt with by the smallest, most immediate and most decentralized authority. Scripture is clear that caring for family members is primarily the duty of the family and clan itself, rather than that of the church (Acts 6:1-7). The Bible also teaches the principle of subsidiarity in Exodus 18, where Jethro advises Moses that even judicial matters which can be handled by the patriarchs of families themselves, should be managed as such. Civil authorities should only become involved in matters delegated to them by the clans or extended families. This is also why kin-rule is such a vital ecclesiastical and political principle integral to the biblical notion of subsidiarity.

It is important that families realize that Biblical Law grants them a God-given liberty and authority which dare not be usurped by the state. With this authority also comes great responsibility, of course.  Parents have to take care that the entire atmosphere in the home is healthy and conductive to cultivating the kind of family life that pleases God. The right circumstances must be cultivated in which children can be raised to the glory of God as the next generation of warriors for Christ’s Kingdom. Intergenerational obedience is integral to our fight against the forces of darkness and all the enemies of Christ who desire to usurp His authority. A loving household with a mother and a father living in obedience to God is not only the greatest gift any child can ever receive, it is also integral to resisting and conquering all those who conspire against the Kingship of Jesus Christ.
